PetCast is a projector and an app. Point it at a wall or the floor, connect your phone, and pick what plays.
Use Interactive play for creatures that run from movement, Light Studio to map light onto your own room, or a Play or Chill video. The app is free. The Starter Kit comes with 6 months of Pro, and the Complete Set with lifetime Pro.
On the wall in three steps.
Chase games, light shows
and slow episodes.

Put the wand down.
You've done your shift with the wand. Stand your phone up and a gecko appears on the wall. It walks, pauses and darts, and on Lively and Wild it runs when something moves close. Try catching it below.
At home, this is your cue for a real treat.
Tap Set up the room to add a Nest, a Hiding spot or a Keep away, like you would around your own furniture in the app.
One free try in the free app. Stay nearby while they play.
Lights down.
Your room lights up.
Trace the shapes in your room on your phone, and each one fills with moving light. You build the world around your furniture.

Heard about “laser pointer syndrome”?
Here's the honest answer.
It's a fair worry. Some owners worry that light play leaves a cat chasing and never catching anything. Here's what the research found and what PetCast does about it.
A 2021 study looked at 618 survey responses from cat owners. Cats who played with laser pointers more often were more likely to chase lights or shadows and stare at lights or reflections.
That's a link, not proof that lasers cause it. A common tip is simple: end every session with something your cat can actually catch.

Your part is quick.
Simple habits for any chase toy.
- Stay close at firstStay nearby during chase play, and watch the first few sessions to see how your pet takes to it.
- Finish with a real catchWhen play ends, toss a toy they can grab or hand over a treat. It's the habit the research points to.
- Keep sessions shortOne game or video, once or twice a day, is plenty.
- Switch it off afterPetCast is for playtime, not a babysitter. Turn it off when you're done.
- Keep other toys aroundWands, balls and a good chin scratch still matter. PetCast is one part of their day.
If your pet starts staring at lights, chasing reflections or can't settle after play, pause PetCast and mention it to your vet.

Questions, answered
Will my cat actually care?
We can't promise every cat will care. Some need a few sessions, and some just watch or walk off. Start with a Gentle Play video in a dim room. You have 30 days to try it at home.
Isn't this just a laser pointer?
No. It's an LCD projector with an LED light, so the light spreads across the whole picture instead of one dot. Finish with a real toy or treat so there's something to catch.
Does PetCast react to my cat?
Interactive play does: with the camera on, creatures run on Lively and Wild, and movement on a creature counts as a catch. Videos and Light Studio visuals play on their own and don't react.
What if I have a dog?
PetCast is made with cats in mind. The same 30 days apply if you try it with a dog.
What if my cat isn't interested?
Try a different world, a slower pace or a darker room. If it isn't for your cat, send it back as new within 30 days of delivery. For more on returns and refunds, see our policy.
What's the difference between the Starter Kit and the Complete Set?
The Starter Kit is the projector, a Type-C to HDMI cable and 6 months of Pro. The Complete Set adds a phone stand and a pet treat launcher, and Pro has no end date.
Do I need a phone stand?
For Interactive play, your phone stands up facing where your cat plays. Lean it on something steady, or use the stand in the Complete Set.
Is this a subscription?
No subscription needed. The free app includes 9 Play videos, a Chill episode and basic Light Studio. Pro is extra. The Starter Kit comes with 6 months, which end with no charge. The Complete Set comes with lifetime Pro.
Can I use my own projector or TV?
Yes. Get the free app and connect it to a projector or screen that takes AirPlay, screen mirroring or HDMI. Our box puts everything together, with Pro included.
Can I leave it on while I'm out?
No. Your phone runs the projector, and chase play is for when you're nearby. It suits the times you're home and busy: working, cooking or on the couch.
Do I need Wi-Fi?
You need a connection to stream in the app. The 9 Play videos and 2 Chill videos can be downloaded.
Where should I put it?
On a shelf or table 1 to 5 m from the wall or floor. Turn the focus until the picture looks sharp.
What kind of light is it?
An LCD projector with an LED light, not a laser, rated by the supplier at 200 lumens. Point it at a wall or the floor, not at faces, and don't let your cat stare into the lens.
Does it work with the lights on?
It's made for dim rooms. In bright daylight the picture fades, so draw the curtains or wait until evening.
How fast is shipping?
Shipping is included to the US, the UK, Australia and the EU. Checkout shows if we deliver to your address. US orders usually arrive in 8 to 18 days, and other countries usually take 7 to 30 days. Import duties or taxes may apply on delivery. Orders with more than one item may arrive in more than one parcel.
What's the warranty?
A 30-day warranty is included.
